HCDP Chair Odus Evbagharu to Resign

Odus Quote
HCDP Chair Odus Evbagharu announced Wednesday that he intends to step down from his position at the end of this month.

“I treasure the work we were able to accomplish during the last two years,” Evbagharu said.

“It has been a tremendous honor to serve as chair of the state’s largest Democratic county party. I am very proud of what we were able to accomplish together. We centered people, precincts, and policy, and Harris County will be better for it.”

Under Evbagharu’s leadership since his election to office in 2021, HCDP raised $2.1 Million and knocked more doors during an election cycle than any previous year. He is the youngest person and first African American to be elected chair.

Chair Evbagharu intends to officially resign on February 28 at 11:59 PM. There will be a meeting of the County Executive Committee held on Sunday, March 19 to elect a new Chair. More details regarding the meeting will be provided soon.
